Introducing our new Content Management System!

Ballyhoo Refresh

Throughout our time as web developers we've encountered many different content management systems (CMS) so we like to think we know what we're talking about. The majority are excellent and work well for our customers, offering enormous flexibility and cool features. But, unfortunately, they usually all have one thing in common – they’re complex and time-consuming, requiring training to manage even basic functions.

It's really important to us that the websites we build are easy to maintain and work with, as can be seen in our e-commerce system Ballyhoo Commerce. We simplified everything so that anyone could intuitively use the system and start successfully selling online.

Following this ethos, and considering the aforementioned issue of CMS complexity, we've developed our own content management system - Ballyhoo Refresh.

Ballyhoo Refresh aims to be a really simple alternative to current CMS options, where fancy functions aren't a concern and customers simply want to be able to keep their websites current and up-to-date.

Features

In-place editing

Ballyhoo Refresh offers in-place editing of pages meaning there is no need for an admin area (and no time wasted learning how to use it!).

You just need to log in to the website (as you might expect on any CMS-based website) but, instead of being redirected to the admin area, you'll remain on the front-end of the site where you'll be able to see previously hidden functions and options.

Then you simply have to navigate to the page you want to edit and you'll see an Edit This Page button.

You can also add a new page at any time using the Add Page option in the navigation.

WYSIWYG editor

Ballyhoo Refresh gives you the freedom to fully edit the content on your website. We've integrated aWYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor to allow you to format and set the structure of text as well as add images and links to your content.

Click and drag

If you want to change the order of your website's navigation you simply have to click and drag pages into the right order. It literally takes just a few seconds to alter the structure of your website.

Extensible software

We've developed Ballyhoo Refresh to be extensible, meaning it can easily be built upon to expand the functionality of the website. Extra features that can be added include forums, blogs and even custom dynamic elements.
