When we moved our servers to Rackspace in the summer of 2010 we took into account many factors before making our decision, here are a few of the most important:

One of the main temptations to use Rackspace was the fact that their servers are based in the UK. Google is thought to prioritise websites that are hosted in the country they target and another priority feature is a speedy website response time, which should be enhanced by having our servers in the UK.

- The entire server is backed up on a weekly basis, with a two week retention policy.
- There is a daily differential backup, this checks for changes to the weekly backup and saves them.
