Who are Wi-Fyre?

Wi-Fyre LogoWi-Fyre is a new brand from specialist fire alarm manufacturer and supplier, Eurofyre. Eurofyre have been supplying innovative fire detection products and associated safety products to the professional fire safety market since 2007 and have established themselves as a premier supplier through their dedication to quality products, customer service and excellent technical and sales support.

Eurofyre fire alarm solutions have been supplied for use in buildings all over the UK and have even been selected for use in a number of National Trust properties, a multi-million pound London townhouse and the flagship Regent Street store of one of the most iconic British luxury fashion brands, Burberry.

Wi-Fyre, as you may have inferred, is a new brand that focuses on wireless fire safety. A new website was required to market this brand and the products available to customers in an easy-to-use format that communicates the flexibility and time-saving properties of the technology.

We have been using Ballyhoo for many years, they look after both our websites, carry out monthly marketing and make sure services such as hosting are up to speed. Ballyhoo are one of the friendliest companies we have worked with, easy to communicate with, very professional and understand our ideas and thoughts.

Over several years we have been creating a new product range and a new website was always in our plans. When the time finally came around to creating one, we knew Ballyhoo would create something that will stand out from the rest. A specification and concept design was created and moulded around a clean look. We handed it over to Ballyhoo who took all of our crazy ideas in with ease, no idea was impossible. Further into the build, our ideas were progressively improved and more and more clever but simple ideas were implemented, such as the fixed navigation bar. An idea like this makes it a lot easier for the user to find their way around the site.

For the CMS, we decided to choose Ballyhoo’s custom content management system over such systems like Joomla. The reason being, it’s so easy to use. We have had past experiences with Joomla but Ballyhoo’s is far easier. I could write so much more regarding the website build but I will leave that to Ballyhoo to describe in more detail.

Overall, we are very happy with the work Ballyhoo has created, the website is clean and very easy to use and because of this, we are confident that our new product range will be a success!

Design

Wi-Fyre has been in the pipeline for Eurofyre for some time so they were able to provide us with a brand identity and structure guidelines to work from to help us produce a design concept for their website.

A light colour scheme with red elements was chosen to harmonise with the look of the products on offer, giving the website a very modern and airy feel and allowing high-quality product images to take precedence. A modular layout was implemented with hover-effects used in select areas to give the user further information and the main navigation was designed to be in a fixed position on the left side of the website, meaning that no matter how far you scroll the menu options are always accessible.

The result is a website where the user is able to find the information they need with a minimal number of clicks and where the wireless fire products available take centre-stage.

Key Development Features

Wi-fyre.co.uk has been built on Ballyhoo Refresh, our own content management system designed to make managing your website a doddle. Using the intelligent templating system we've managed to match the web design concept for this website to the pixel, creating a website that matches our graphic designer's vision as closely as physically possible. Eurofyre are already au fait with the system, having been an early adopter of the system on their main website eurofyre.co.uk, so using Refresh on this website too was a natural choice.

Online Marketing

Anyone launching a brand new website has the odds stacked against them as they try to compete with established sites for traffic. While well-written, relevant content and having products and information people genuinely want is a big step in the right direction, some help is usually needed to kick-start proceedings.
